Pinoy Scramble (Ice Crumble)

One of the staple street food of the 80's-90's era (di ko na alam nung 70's, wala pa ko muwang noon) that kids loved - scramble/iskrambol (read: ice crumble). Remember those days, when you line up to buy a cup from the neighborhood manong who peddles scramble right after you wake up from your afternoon nap, the pink-colored, somewhat strawberry-flavored crushed ice that is top with powdered milk and drizzled with Hershey's chocolate and strawberry syrup. I think everyone had a taste of that, unless of course, you belong to the elites of the society *begins to chant, hail to the mighty and rich, hahaha*.

Anyway, that best-loved concoction is back with a vengeance, you can now spot different varieties of ice crumble all over the mall, in the street corners, everywhere, but it now cost from 5-15pesos and comes with a smorgasbord of toppings, from chocolate and multi-colored candy sprinkles, to mini mallows and candy-coated chocolates, to rice crispies and wafer sticks.

You know what I discovered though, it doesn't matter how young or old I am, my love for scramble/iskrambol didn't falter, hahaha.

Have a pleasant Saturday peeps!
