We had this as our potluck share in the 40 days of our grandma con Mother's Day celebration in her house together with the other family members. I was supposed to buy Bailey's something (one of those cakes in the Kris collection) but when I saw this one, I was swayed instantly (blame it on Dylan and Anna's love of strawberry cake without strawberries in Fated To Love You *grins*).

The taste was nothing extraordinary, it won't and I don't think it can surpass or equal Dolor's Kakanin but what makes this kakanin unique is its presentation(refer to the second photo), it was cut and wrap per piece so that it would be easy to pick and chow on, no worries about plates or forks or messy hands. It even looked like a colorful pan pizza *lol*.

My brother went to Tagaytay a few days ago and when he got back, a few boxes of these babies were with him. I got two boxes for myself because it was so yummy, I just can't get enough. I even applauded my bro for picking crumble pie than the usual buco pie as his take home goody.

It may not look scrumptious in the above photo but I'm telling you, it was good, as in really good.

On our way to our late grandma's house last week, we happened to passed by a branch of Boy Ching Woo, said to be the oldest restaurant in Caloocan City. I was cajoling hubs and the rest of the pack to dine there but as we were going to the birthday celebration of lola (she died three weeks before her 81st), dining out was kinda unnecessary.

But to pacify me, hubby bought two pieces of shawarma, one regular and one special - the first one didn't made it to the photo session as I instantly gobbled it. It was yummy and inexpensive, I will give it a go any day *grins*.

And then it hit hubby, he asked around and found a stall (somewhere in the city where we lived in) that sells food and stuff from Baguio and other provinces and voila problem solved. Rico's lengua de gato rocks!

One of the perks of pregnancy is that you can eat everything that you want without the hassle of indigestion and excess body weight (pregnant women burn calories faster, hehe). Plus, most of your relatives and friends together with your husband tend to give in to your every whim and cravings in a jippy *lol*. An uncle brought this home, someone gave this pudding/rice cake to him and he thought that I might like it... lucky me!

What I Have Been Up To?

I have been away from blogging and my computer (per se) for a month (or more) not because of some technical or mechanical problems but (in fact) due to my laziness, *grins*. Laziness that is brought about by a condition most (if not all) women go through once or twice (or more) in their lives, my OB-GYN told me three weeks ago that I am two weeks pregnant *smiles*. So, please bear with me during these times...

I have a backlog of files that I plan to post as soon as I'm able... hopefully today, wish me luck.
