Pinoy Street Food: The Si-Log Family

>> Sunday, August 24, 2008

Photos below are some of the more famous members of the Si-Log family, a viable part of Pinoy street foods. Commonly found at hole-in-the-wall establishments, but at the moment, more and more classy restaurants are offering them, some even have them as specialties, does Tapa King ring a bell?

I love eating sinangag (fried rice) and pritong itlog (fried egg) during breakfast, give me some tocino or longganisa (Filipino-style sausage) and I'm in heaven.

My very first entry to Weekend Snapshot, we had lunch at Hi-nan Food and Tea House before we went to the nearby zoo yesterday. The food was great and the price fits right in the budget, a good place to go if you don't mind a panciteria-ish environment (read: it is a big hole in the wall restaurant). Happy eating!

Trivia: Hi-Nan Food and Tea House was once featured in Pinaka (a weekly show in QTV 11), I think the episode was about "pinakasulit na restaurant", other establishments in the list are Ma Mon Luk and Aristocrat (the rest I've forgotten, sorry).

About Me

I am a wife to the sweetest person on Earth and a mother to the cutest baby boy in the planet. I love reading literary books but I have an addiction in contemporary/renaissance romance novels. I am a video game aficionado in the truest sense of the word. I love to travel the world, if and only given the opportunity. I don't know how to cook (but I'm slowly learning) so there's a fascination with take-outs and dine-ins. I could go on and on but I guess you had enough *lol*.
