Another Pinoy classic - Puto Taktak, it is purple-colored galapong, or ground glutinous rice, cooked in bamboo tubes in special steamers and served with niyog, or grated coconut, and sugar - as defined by Pinoy Cook.

Mmm mmm. Those look really tasty. I had a similar treat in Thailand that involved a banana, sticky rice, and a banana leaf. For some reason, I remember it tasting incredibly good. Unfortunately I only spent a week on a Philippines resort (north of the country), so I didn't get to experience much local culture. Now I regret missing it even more :(
